The throughline

The work has been the same job, four times, in different clothes. Frontier technology, applied inside institutions.

I started writing COBOL in 1994. The stack keeps changing. The problem does not: how a new capability becomes everyday practice without breaking the place that has to live with it.

  1. CRM

    Enterprise delivery at Vodafone, News Corp, and ABN AMRO — putting new systems into organisations that already had a job to do.

  2. Aviation

    Safety software with AeroSDB. One of those products, BARSoft, was later sold to the Flight Safety Foundation.

  3. Drones

    I founded Drone Complier, a compliance platform that grew to 115,000 users. We raised just over two million dollars, won a national CASA tender, and I built a team of thirty.

  4. Web3

    Head of Engineering at ConsenSys, including the work that took us through SOC 2 Type 2.

  5. Now

    AI governance inside a regional council, and building Maxeneur.

I am Australian, with Japanese connections that have stayed with me. After four years in the United States I came home to Cairns. I miss some of the entrepreneurial energy. I also like being here.

What I'm building now

The work I want people to find first is Maxeneur. It is a coaching system and a weekly operating rhythm for businesses that want AI to become practice, not a pile of tools. The full picture lives there.

Nearby, two earlier pieces: Tailomere, an AI orchestration and governance layer, and StrataLens, an AI platform for strata data. Both are real. Neither needs a pitch here.

How I think

Success = Integration ÷ Entropy

I wrote this down while building Drone Complier, and I have used it since. Integration is what you take from the world and make useful — a product that works, a team that can decide, a process people will actually follow. Entropy is what you burn: confusion, unused features, meetings that do not change the next action.

The ratio is the point. You can grow the top and still lose if the bottom grows faster.

I play golf the same way. Too much analysis, not enough swing, and occasionally a clean shot that makes the rest worth it. I also keep reading about consciousness, and what AI does to how we are connected. I do not have a conclusion. The question is useful enough.
